During rushhour, up to 30 seconds per stop can be saved when travelers know where the doors will be before the train/metro is at the platform.
To achieve this we co-developed a lightbar that can be controlled in real-time to show where the doors of the next vehicle are going to be.
Because in the Netherlands there is a wide variety in metros and trains, the door position is not the same everytime. This calls for a fluid solution.
The light bar is currently deployed at one metro station and one train station in the Netherlands. Tests are being conducted that will determine how many platforms will get the info light bars. The Netherlands has 400 train stations.
